The mother of the girl who was left paralyzed after getting kidnapped by her boyfriend has spoken out and called for stricter sentences.
19-year-old Angel Lynn, who is now 20, was kidnapped by her boyfriend, 20-year-old Chay Bowskill, and his accomplice, 20-year-old Rocco Sansome, back in September 2020 after the two had an argument.
In disturbing CCTV footage, the young man was seen running after his girlfriend before picking her up and carrying her into the van where his accomplice was waiting. After the trio drove off, Angel somehow fell out of the van and hit the road.
While the defense argued she fell by accident, the prosecution attempted to establish that she was thrown out of the van but failed to prove these allegations in court.
Following the incident, Angel was left paralyzed and unable to talk. She remains in a rehabilitation center where she requires constant specialist care.
Meanwhile, Bowskill and Sansome were arrested. While Bowskill was sentenced to seven years and six months in prison, his friend received a 21-month sentence.
Now, the girl’s heartbroken mother has spoken out and called for stricter sentences as she revealed her “bubbly” daughter would never be the same again.
“I am disgusted with the sentences. Seeing her like this kills me every day. I worry every day about not being here anymore, who is going to look out for her?” mom Nikki Lynn said in an interview with Sky News.
“She was really bubbly, she loved going out for meals with her friends. She used to take pride in herself, she always looked nice.”
She added: “I miss everything about her, doing things together, running in and out of the house how she does, everything, cheekiness, she’s just so funny, so kind. I miss her all together I’m just scared I won’t get my Angel back.
“I think she might know me when I try and get her to give me a kiss, if I put my cheek out, she purses her lips but it takes all her energy, it’s rare.”
Our thoughts are with the Lynn family during these challenging times.
