A grieving mother burst into tears at the funeral of her five children who were killed alongside their hero father in a house fire.
Samantha Stephenson was led out of the funeral of her sons Nickolas, Harrison, Koah, Kyza and Zackary and their dad Wayne Godinet after she broke down in tears and was unable to deliver a eulogy.
According to reports, the hero father returned to the burning house in an attempt to save the children but they died when the building suddenly collapsed.
Heartbroken relatives said that Godinet died with his arms around the children.
Stephenson, who was about to deliver the eulogy, broke down in tears and was unable to do so.
Her sister Christina then did it and said: “This room is filled with a sorrow so deep, there are now words to describe it.
“Everyone here today was looking forward to watching these five little boys grow up to become men … but along with their loving father, they were taken way too soon, leaving us to come to grips with this great loss.”
Christina said that Samantha already had Harry and Zack when she met Wayne, who had ‘embraced the boys.’
“He was their dad,” she expressed. “A protector of his family, Wayne’s commitment knew no bounds.”
She also said that Zach wrote poetry, played guitar, soccer and basketball, and ‘radiated kindness and protected his younger brothers.’
Christina described Harry as a quiet boy who was fascinated with the moon and stars and enjoyed going to the park with his friends.
The aunt went on and said that Kyza had ‘boundless energy and so protective of Koah,’ Nicky ‘was the ringleader when it came to getting up to mischief with his brothers, his cheeky grin giving him away every single time.’
Another aunt, Angela, also gave a eulogy for the boys and brother-in-law. “I don’t understand how this could happen to such innocent beings who grew their wings too soon,” she expressed.
“To all my boys, to all our boys. Nothing will ever fill this chasm of grief, I think I will miss you forever like the sun misses the moon and the stars as it rises again.”
