A mother-of-four passed away suddenly just two days after undergoing plastic surgery abroad.
Sucretta Tolliver from Chicago flew to the Dominican Republic earlier this month to undergo plastic surgery at a more affordable price than in the States.
Just two days after her surgery on December 12, however, the mom-of-four died from internal bleeding while in recovery.
As the woman’s daughter, Mariah Price, revealed in an interview with NBC 5, her mother encountered medical complications soon after her procedure.
“I got on the phone with her that night, the night before she passed, and she just sounded like she was in so much pain,” Price recalled.
She also said her mother told her she wouldn’t wish the pain on anybody.
“They did their report in the Dominican, but when she gets back home we’re going to do our own reports and then we’ll sort it out,” Tolliver’s brother, William Tolliver, added.
According to the woman’s death certificate, the mother-of-four died from internal bleeding. Her family, however, demands a closer investigation into the incident and has since reached out to the FBI and the Department of State for help.
“The only way that I feel like I can have any type of fight back towards what happened to her is for it not to happen to anybody else,” William said.
The tragic news comes just months after Tandra Bowser-Williams, a 49-year-old corrections captain, died of a stroke just days after undergoing a Brazilian butt lift in the Dominican Republic.
At the time, it was discovered that the doctor who operated on Bowser-Williams was a fraud without a license.
