Once at the hospital, the baby was put on a ventilator and given just a 50% chance of survival.

As the baby’s mother, Honey Ahimsa, explained, the hospital where her daughter is currently fighting for her life isn’t equipped to provide Lucky with the best possible treatment.

Ahimsa and her fiancé, Pan, have since explored options involving airlifting their baby to Singapore or their native Australia but were quoted $90,000 and $60,000 respectively for the trip.

“She’s now in ICU and the specialist team that she needs is actually in another hospital but that one is full,” Bailey Scarlett, a family friend, revealed in an interview with Daily Mail Australia.

“We’re all just kind of scrambling around trying to get her out, basically, because we can’t get her to another hospital because they’re full.”

“We’ve been quoted $90,000 to medevac her out to Singapore and $65,000 back to Perth, which we’re basically trying to gather the funds to be able to do that now. We’re looking at Perth, obviously, because the medical care is obviously going to be better.”

Before the child can be airlifted to another hospital, she also needs to be in stable condition.

On Thursday, following agonizing 24 hours at the Bali hospital, Ahimsa provided another health update and revealed they were already charged as much as $8,000 for their first-day stay.

“There’s is nothing worse than a doctor telling you your baby isn’t going to make it. My girl is hanging on though. I’m so proud of her,” she said.

The mother also thanked everyone who donated to the fundraiser set up for her child’s medical expenses.

“She has a severe bacterial infection that has taken a serious toll on her lungs, she is unable to breathe and is on a ventilator which is now breathing for her,” Ahimsa added.

“They are unsure whether or not antibiotics can work as she’s in such an unstable critical condition. It is unsure how long she will need to stay in hospital, minimum two weeks with possibility of needing to stay longer.”

Our thoughts remain with baby Lucky and her family during this challenging time.
