An emotional moment was captured aboard a British Airways flight that was moments away from landing at Heathrow’s International airport.
The moment revealed a very emotional stewardess who breaks down into a flood of tears after the Queen’s death was announced mid-air, about 40 minutes before the plane touched down for landing.
The shocking announcement came forward by the aircraft’s pilot who can be heard mentioning through the plane’s tannoy in the viral footage. The video shows the crew member too, getting all emotional and breaking down uncontrollably.
Meanwhile, passengers were seen looking at one another in absolute disbelief as this was not the news that anyone was expecting or hoping to hear aboard a flight that was on its way to London.
The 60-year-old passenger named Michael Capiraso can be seen capturing the moment that truly was described as so devastating by many aboard. Moreover, the flight was stated to be on its way from New York to London, number BA Flight 178.
“It was just so surreal and emotional. We were flying to the United Kingdom to take our daughter to the university of Edinburgh. And to hear the pilot make such a heartbreaking announcement was just unbelievable for so many of us”- he revealed.
“I will always remember this moment”- he continued.
“Elizabeth, the Queen, passed away earlier today with her family by her side. We have little more information that at this moment”0 the pilot could be heard mentioning.
“But I felt the need to inform you all that before you arrive at the terminal as I know so many of you will be very very sad and upset after hearing this”- he added.
The pilot hoped many would take the news and use whatever more time they had on the flight to reflect on the matter as there were still forty minutes left until the plane was scheduled to land.
