You may have seen plenty of bloomers take place in the world of media but we bet nothing beats this next incident that left BBC red in the face.
The leading media outlet was forced to issue a public apology after it mistook actress Viola Davis for Beyonce.
The news comes as the media outlet was paving the way for a striking feature for Queen B who now holds the record number of Grammy awards to her name after the event on Sunday.
But it so happened that the show featured a major mistake by putting up an image of actress Viola Davis and calling her Beyonce. And while the mistake may appear minor to you, it was definitely not missed by the critics.
Beyonce has a total of 32 Grammy awards to her name. Meanwhile, Viola Davis is famed for the groundbreaking audiobook that helped her win her first Grammy award ever.
So while the leading broadcasting channel covered the famous Grammy Awards on Sunday, they added a caption underneath Viola’s image. This boldly mentioned, ‘Beyonce’s Big Night!’ And as you can imagine, the news went viral as fans found the mistake to be offensive.
Beyonce reportedly attained her record win at this year’s awards night when her hit album Renaissance was given the award for the best dance/electronic album.
She was called on stage amid a huge roar and applause as many celebrated her great achievements and recording breaking title for having the most wins out of any and all artists today.
Users on social media were observed criticizing the mistake furiously and hoped the top media outlet of the UK would be able to differentiate both of these successful Black women from one another.
