The missing 5-month-old who was abducted with his twin brother outside a pizza store while their mother went inside to pick up an order has finally been found.
Authorities in Ohio found Kason Thomas alive around 175 miles away from where he and his brother were kidnapped when their mother’s vehicle was stolen and they were still in the backseat.
According to reports, he was discovered in a parking lot in Indianapolis near Papa John’s on Thursday. He is said to be in good health and has been taken to a hospital for a checkup.
Kason was still wearing the same clothes when he was found in the stolen Honda Accord.
Only hours earlier, the alleged kidnapper, 24-year-old Naleh Jackson, was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping.
Kason’s twin brother, Kyair Thomas, was found in an airport parking lot on Tuesday.
Columbia Police Deputy Chief Smith Weir said that they received dozens of tips from across the state, with many calling from Indiana as they believed they had seen Jackson.
At around 2 pm on Thursday, Indianapolis stopped a person who they believed to be the kidnapper and took her into custody.
In a statement released on Thursday evening, Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant said: “We are grateful to the public for their help throughout this investigation, and for the tireless work of our officers and our many partner agencies.
“They never stopped, never gave up hope, and would not rest until Kason was found. We are beyond thankful for their relentless dedication.”
The statement added: “The Emergency Operation Center remains open even though Kason has been found. If you have any information that could be helpful with this case, please call our tip line at 614-645-4701.”
