A young woman was found dead outside a 60-story building in Manhattan on Sunday morning.
First responders rushed to Manhattan’s Orion building at around 7.15 am on Sunday after a young lady reportedly jumped to her death from the skyscraper’s terrace on the 29th floor.
Upon further investigation, the victim was identified as 30-year-old Cheslie Kryst who won the Miss USA pageant back in 2019.
It is believed that the prominent model took her own life and jumped from the building just moments after sharing one final message with her followers on Instagram.
“May this day bring you rest and peace,” she wrote.
According to the authorities, the model didn’t provide any reason for her actions. She did, however, leave behind a note in which she explained that she wanted to leave everything she had to her mother.
“Not only beautiful but she was smart — she was a lawyer. She has a life that anyone would be jealous of. It’s so sad,” one source told the New York Post.
Besides earning the title of Miss USA 2019, Cheslie graduated from the University of South Carolina and the Honors College and went on to finish her law studies and become an associate attorney at Poyner-Spruill LLP.
The inspiring model was also the founder of the White Collar Glam blog and became a news correspondent for Extra who earned two Daytime Emmy nominations.
“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined,” the 30-year-old’s family expressed in a statement following the horrific news of her passing.
“Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on ExtraXTRA.
“But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on. As we reflect on our loss, the family asks for privacy at this time.”
Our thoughts are with Cheslie’s family and friends during these challenging times.
