Miriam Margolyes managed to take her fans by surprise by appearing completely naked in a Vogue cover photo.
The 82-year-old legendary actress, who appeared in the likes of Harry Potter, Babe, The Age of Innocence, The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, Flushed Away, and many more, posed for British Vogue’s annual Pride issue with a collection of iced buns wearing nothing but pearl jewelry.
Despite her confident appearance and the shoot that left little to the imagination, Margolyes admitted she’s struggling to accept her body because of her large breasts and small legs.
“I like my face. I think my face is kind and warm and open and smiley. But I hate my body,” she said.
“I hate big t*ts, a drooping belly, little twisted legs. I’m not thrilled with that. But you just make the best of it. You have to. You do the best you can.”
The actress also revealed that she is set to undergo heart surgery despite her hectic work schedule.
Elsewhere in the interview with the magazine, Margolyes admitted she was thinking about death a lot more than when she was younger.
“When you’re young, you never think about death. You just think about your next f**k basically. I think about death a lot,” she said.
“Oh, every day, for sure. Every morning when I get up I think, ‘Hmmm, another day,’ which maybe I wasn’t expecting.”
She also claimed she never felt any shame about being gay even though coming out initially “hurt” her parents.
“I never had any shame about being gay or anything really. I knew it wasn’t criminal because it was me. I couldn’t be criminal,” Margolyes said of her sexual orientation after coming out as gay back in 1966 when homosexuality was still illegal in the UK.
