President Biden kickstarted Memorial Day by paying his late son Beau Biden’s grave a visit on Monday.
According to local media reports, the president’s son was a military veteran who served in Iraq. He is believed to have been buried at the church graveyard in Wilmington Delaware. Moreover, the exact cause of death for Beau was believed to be brain cancer, which took place nearly seven years back in 2015.
Biden was seen visiting the grave with his wife and grandchildren by his side. His sister is also believed to have attended the high-profile visit with plenty of security officials by their side.
Other reports spoke about Biden paying a visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which is located in Arlington’s National Cemetary. The American President will also reportedly lay down a wreath over there and state a few remarks in honor of the occasion.
On Sunday, President Biden and his wife and first lady Jill Biden were seen arriving in Uvalde, Texas to pay their respect to the 21 people who lost their lives in the tragic shooting massacre at an elementary school.
Grieving parents and loved ones called out the President on the occasion and asked him to do more. And that’s when Biden stated in response that he will.
The President often brings up his late son during his speeches. Beau Biden was his eldest son and a military veteran. Therefore, it’s not uncommon to see Biden take his name in remembrance whenever he’s busy discussing military service or events involving personal loss.
Last week, for instance, the President was seen showing empathy to grieving families who lost their loved ones in a tragic school massacre in Texas. He tried to comfort them by mentioning how losing a son or daughter was like having a piece of your soul ripped away.
