Archie Battersbee’s medical report is finally here from the coroner’s office, unveiling his tragic cause of death.
According to local media reports, the report spoke about how the 12-year-old boy had died of a brain injury that took place after a strangulation incident.
The news was revealed during an inquest today, leaving his loved ones stuck with more grief.
Archie was believed to have been discovered in an unresponsive state by his mother at the family’s home in Southend in Essex.
This young schoolboy was highlighted by his mother for taking part in an awfully trending challenge on the popular social media app TikTok. This was known as the blackout challenge and his mom says it’s the reason why her child is no longer with her today.
Archie has been in a coma since April and despite his parents’ multiple attempts to try and win the legal battle to keep his life support machine switched on, they just couldn’t come out on top. And in the end, it just had to be switched off, leading to his instant death.
The schoolboy passed away last week on Saturday, right after his mom publicized his case in front of the world, leaving many heartbroken to see the tragic end after the NHS failed to listen to her pleas.
Medical experts have gone on to reveal how the brain damage suffered by young Archie was of a severe degree. They believe there was no chance of recovery but his family continued to fight for the schoolboy as they wished to keep him alive for as long as was required.
The case was seen shifting back and forth from the High Court, Court of Appeal, and even the European Court of Human Rights. But in the end, it was just not possible to keep Archie alive any longer and the family watched him pass away peacefully in front of their eyes.
