Justice has finally been served for a case involving a 12-day old infant who reportedly passed away after suffering the most devastating injuries from a dog attack.
The Crown Court in Sheffield spoke about how the attack had taken place in 2020 where the innocent child was mauled to death at a residence shared by his mother and her lover.
The incident took place in Yorks after the child’s stepdad’s dog went ballistic and reportedly attacked the child in a brutal manner.
The was described by authorities as a ferocious breed but despite the attack, the mother has chosen to stick by her partner’s side.
The owner of the wild dog has been sentenced to 4 years in prison while the mother has also been charged in connection to the incident.
Sources revealed how the mother was also supposed to stand trial for the horrifying incident but all the charges in her name were dropped after the stepdad claimed full responsibility for his actions.
This is being looked upon as a devastating tragedy, cops revealed.
The mother named Abigail Ellis revealed in the courtroom how she planned on sticking by her partner’s side despite the tragic manner in which the incident had taken place.
Meanwhile, the court has heard how the dog’s wild nature was ignored for some time by both the owner and the child’s mother. And that’s when the court revealed how the dog had bitten one of the mother’s other children.
During the time of the child’s death, the dog was reportedly banished to the couple’s backyard.
But all of a sudden, the victim’s brother noticed that he was missing. When he arrived at the backyard, the ferocious pet was hovering over the infant and growling.
