Jonathan Majors, who has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as many different versions of the supervillain Kang the Conqueror, has been arrested.
According to TMZ, police were called to a residence near the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan after the 33-year-old star reportedly attacked a woman during an argument.
The woman, who was described as the actor’s girlfriend, had visible injuries, including red marks on her face and a laceration behind her ear.
The incident reportedly started while Majors and the woman were on the way home from a Brooklyn bar.
TMZ alleged that the woman noticed the actor was texting another woman.
In a statement about the incident, police said that the woman informed them that she was attacked. “Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident.”
However, Majors’ representative has maintained that the actor has not committed any wrongdoing.
“He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up,” the representative stated.
The actor has played in many Marvel movies. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he is set to star as the central character in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Just recently, he appeared on the cover of Ebony Magazine and slammed those who have criticized him for not being ‘masculine’ enough.
“You tell me what masculinity is…It is fluid. I wouldn’t wanna walk up on me in the street,” he said.
“There’s strength and there’s vulnerability. There’s awareness, and then there’s acknowledgement of ignorance. It doesn’t matter how much you weigh or how much you bench press. That’s not the point. But, I hear my brothers.
“We fight and claw for every inch of positive news we get. I don’t shy away from this idea of Black masculinity. I’m just living my life. I am male. I am Black.”
