Marilyn Manson has been sentenced after blowing his nose and spitting on a female videographer.
The 54-year-old troubled rocker was handed a $1,200 fine and an order to complete 20 hours of community service after being charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault.
The incident took place on August 19, 2019, when Manson was performing at Gilford’s Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. It was alleged that the singer at one point during his concert approached a videographer only to spit all over her hands.
He then later returned to the same woman, knelt down, and blew his nose over her arms.
“For me, I’m a professional person and I’ve been in this industry for 30 years. I’ve worked for a lot of companies, and in all the years I’ve worked with people, I’ve never been humiliated or treated like I was by this defendant,” the victim said in a statement.
“For him to spit on me and blow his nose on me was the most disgusting thing a human being has ever done.
“I understand this was not a big criminal charge to begin with, but I was hoping that the defendant would receive a sentence that would make him think twice before doing something like this again.”
Manson’s sentence comes after the musician, whose real name is Brian Warner, pleaded no contest to his charge of blowing his nose as part of his plea deal with the prosecutors that saw his other charge – spitting – dropped.
On top of a fine and 20 hours of community service, the singer was also told to remain arrest free for two years and notify the local authorities before holding any performances in New Hampshire in the following two years.
