The man who has been charged with shooting dead a female police officer while she pleaded for her life has an extensive rap sheet.
25-year-old Darius Sullivan was charged with first-degree murder after fatally shooting Bradley Police Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic while she and her partner were responding to a complaint about barking dogs.
According to the reports, Sullivan shot Rittmanic’s partner, Officer Tyler Bailey, in the head after they found out that there was an active arrest warrant issued against him.point 490 |
After gunning down Bailey, who remains in critical condition, Sullivan shot Rittmanic while she attempted to run for cover.point 105 | While the sergeant was lying on the floor and pleading for her life, Sullivan disarmed her with the help of 26-year-old Xandria Harris and used the cop’s gun to shoot her dead.point 252 | 1
It has now come to light that Sullivan has a lengthy rap sheet involving 21 arrests and 43 charges related to the crimes he carried out around Kankakee County in recent years.
Among other charges, Sullivan was tried for felony burglary, felony possession of a stolen firearm, felony criminal damage to government property, felony theft, and felony residential burglary.

Shortly after pleading guilty and receiving a lenient sentence of 36 months probation, Sullivan was once again arrested and tried for damage to government property and theft only to be sentenced to additional 30 months of probation.point 196 | 1
Two years later, in 2017, the young man once again ended up in handcuffs to answer for his theft and burglary charges.
In the years that followed, Sullivan went on to get arrested on more than a dozen occasions and racked up a total of 43 charges until his encounter with Sgt. Rittmanic and Officer Bailey on December 29.
