The man who shot a child and her parents before going on a run has been arrested as new shocking details about his violent past emerged.
On Tuesday night, 24-year-old Robert Louis Singletary from Gastonia, North Carolina, shot 6-year-old Kinsley White in the face as he opened fire on children who were playing with a ball on the street outside White’s family home.
According to the reports, Singletary shot Kinsley and both of her parents after the girl’s ball rolled into his yard. The crazed man allegedly kept on shooting until he ran out of bullets.
Following the confrontation, the suspect went on the run. The police immediately launched a manhunt and warned the locals to stay indoors to avoid potential contact with the shooter.
It was now revealed that Singletary was arrested in Tampa, Florida, after turning himself in to the police on Thursday afternoon.
He is scheduled to appear at a Hillsborough County court on April 21 and is expected to be extradited to Gaston County, North Carolina, to answer for three counts of attempted murder on top of other charges including assault with intent to cause harm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
It was further revealed that Singletary was involved in a major domestic violence case back in December, just months before he shot White and her parents.
According to a release, the 24-year-old attacked his girlfriend, 21, with a sledgehammer before holding her captive in his apartment.
“The victim said that after being struck, she immediately felt dizzy and disoriented and that she was bleeding profusely from the back of her head,” the report stated.
After the incident, Singletary was charged with assault and kidnapping but was later released on bail.
