A young man has been arrested by the police after shooting a McDonald’s worker in the face point-blank.
The shocking incident took place in Brooklyn, New York City, where a 20-year-old man got into an argument with a McDonald’s worker over his mother’s cold fries.
According to the local reports, the confrontation at the Fulton Street McDonald’s started shortly before 7 pm on Monday when a female customer started arguing with an employee because she allegedly received cold fries.
While the woman was scolding the worker, she was also talking to her son via FaceTime.
Moments later, the same son, who lives nearby, stormed the restaurant and started fighting with the employee who was previously handling his mother’s complaint.
The quarrel was eventually taken outside where the 20-year-old thug pulled the gun on the employee and shot him in the face.
After the shooting, the McDonald’s worker was left lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood while a male witness approached him and helped control the bleeding using his shirt.
Once the paramedics arrived at the scene, the man was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where he is currently fighting for his life.
Meanwhile, the police arrested the gunman who is yet to be officially charged.
“I was scared. That’s why I didn’t run to the scene. You don’t know who is around,” a local businesswoman told The New York Post.
“I feel like crying. You shot someone over French fries?”
While the details of the argument remain unclear, the victim’s colleagues have since spoken out and suggested the employee was a “really nice guy.”
“It’s getting worse, and the shooters are getting younger. They have lost their sense of direction. It says something when a mother is with her son who is carrying a gun,” another witness told the Post.
