A man has welcomed a beautiful baby girl after falling pregnant while he was transitioning.
According to local media reports, 28-year-old Ash Patrick Schade says he fell pregnant after having a one-night stand and this was definitely not something that he saw coming by miles. However, the news certainly brought a sort of excitement into his life and that he claims is what helped him go through the pandemic.
Today, he claims that he’s taking his sweet and precious time while adjusting to his new world and that entails life as a seahorse parent.
Ash detailed about his life and how it took nearly two whole years transitioning and during that time in his life, he figure out that he was pregnant.
The 28-year-old started to take testosterone as well as estrogen blockers, adding how he felt that was enough to prevent him from getting pregnant. But clearly, that did not happen.
After finding out the great news, he paused his treatments, just so he could go through with this pregnancy as he wished to carry and give birth to his baby daughter, which he named Ronan Shiva.
Throughout his life, the father of one claims that he struggled with his gender identity for a really long time. However, he was super excited to begin a new family of his own as a seahorse parent.
For those who may not be aware, the term seahorse parent is reserved for a gestational parent that is transgender or non-binary. This term arises from seahorses, where the male carries as well as gives birth to their young.
Today, life is great for this father who also works as a mental health worker and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. too from West Virginia. At the moment, Ash is co-parenting his child with his husband Jordan who is a full-time stay-at-home step-father.
