Former First Lady Michelle Obama took to her account on Instagram recently to shed light upon the controversial Roe v Wade.
And that is where Mrs. Obama boldly used the term ‘womxn’ when she voice great support for abortion care. Michelle was more than upset at how women would soon be stripped from making decisions about their bodies and that is not something that she found to be acceptable.
“Millions would lose their rights to control their bodies. How can anyone do something like that”- the former first lady mentioned.
On Saturday, we saw Mrs. Obama encourage more and more voters to come forward and have their say on the matter that she felt was beyond outrageous. Moreover, she felt the time to speak up was now and through voting in the midterm primary elections, only then could there be seen a possible change arise.
Michelle couldn’t believe what was happening and said state lawmakers had the great authority to strip women from their rights to body and healthcare.
Moreover, many were appalled to see her reserve the term womxn which she claims included transgender as well as non-binary individuals too that like to identify themselves as women.
Obama called it a very tough period in the US, adding how so much more needed to be done during this hard time and if voices weren’t raised now, we could possibly fall prey to the huge violation of women’s rights.
In the recent past, we’ve seen a number of leading ladies in politics such as Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez being slammed for using words like menstruating women.
And with the controversial abortion law in question and with terms like those used by Michelle Obama, we just might be setting ourselves up for another disaster. What do you think?
