A terrifying moment happened in broad daylight at Birmingham Residents with a gang fight using knives and machetes.
Masked gang members armed with baseball bats and knives brawled in the street in Birmingham, in broad daylight. Footage shows a group of attackers brawling with blades, getting into two different cars, and driving away, running a red light.
The video shows the fight kick-off as someone smashes up a white car with what appears to be a machete. A group of at least three then jump out of the vehicle on Willows Road in Balsall Heath, armed with similar weapons, and start swinging at each other.
Police are now investigating the shocking incident, though no arrests have been made. The fight was thought to have started after a car was first smashed up in Balsall Heath before an all-out brawl.
One hits the passengers with his machete as they try to escape from the white car, another appears to lose his shoe as he made his way to the pavement while other gang members chase them with long blades and baseball bats.
The car’s rear window is smashed and completely broken, as seen in the video. Another video taken from an earlier time shows the heated exchange the two groups had on a busy road not far from a petrol station.
One gang member group runs back to a red car and flees as a van drive past the scene while the others hop on a white car and take off in the same direction.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police told Daily Star: “We’re investigating a disorder on Willows Road, Balsall Heath, around 2:20 pm yesterday. Several men were seen with weapons, including knives, attacking a parked car on the road.”
The spokesperson explained: “Some of the men left in a white Ford Fiesta. Our officers attended and carried out an extensive search of the area, however, no weapons were found and the men had dispersed. No one has come forward with injuries.”
“We are aware of a video circulating on social media, which does look alarming. We want to reassure local residents that we are working harder than ever to establish the full circumstances of this incident and trace the individuals involved,” the spokesperson added.
The incident is the latest violent scene played out on the streets of Birmingham in broad daylight. Earlier this month, mobile phone footage showed ram raiders smashing into a jewelry store in Ladypool Road, Sparkhill.
Police are still hunting the brazen gang who struck at Danyaal Jewellers on March 4. The ram raiders escaped empty-handed in a black Audi after grabbing bags from the shop, which turned out to be empty.
