A startling incident has taken center stage in Louisiana where a watchdog group was requested to carry out an investigation regarding a mysterious case.
According to reports from a local media outlet, one woman who was said to be r*ped as a teenager is now being forced to give up complete custody of her child to her alleged r*pist. And in addition to that, the court has also ordered her to pay child custody too.
The thought of granting a r*pist full custody of the accuser’s child has really started a major debate which is why authorities are now intervening to see what the matter is all about.
PEOPLE magazine happened to be the first to obtain the records that confirmed the verdict offered by the judge named Jeffrey Cashe.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old Crysta Abelseth who is now being forced to send out payments to a man that reportedly ruined her life forever. His name is John Barnes, who she says r*ped her during the later part of 2005.
After exactly nine months, she is believed to have given birth to a baby girl.
But despite all of these harrowing allegations coming forth, many still have trouble believing that judge could allot an alleged abuser with custody of a child.
For now, Barnes is yet to have been charged for any of his crimes that were linked with these startling allegations.
Abelseth has since then spoken to PEOPLE magazine and she says that she is beyond appalled at the country’s judicial system. She says that she wants her daughter’s home to be safe and to have that abuser out of their lives forever. But the way that the case has turned out, she says it is beyond a nightmare for her.
“My quality of life has suffered tremendously and I do not wish the same to take place with my young child”- the mother cried.
