Lizzo is facing serious allegations after three of her backup dancers spoke out and claimed the singer subjected them to sexual harassment and a hostile work environment.
In a lawsuit filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court, dancers Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez alleged that the Truth Hurts hitmaker encouraged “cast members to take turns touching the nude performers.”
The trio described their shocking allegations in detail and added that Lizzo encouraged “eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas” and “catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas.”
“The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly,” the dancers’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, said.
“While privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are not only illegal but absolutely demoralizing.”
The suit also alleges that David was fired by “furious” Lizzo after recording a meeting because she couldn’t follow what was going on due to her eye condition.
“Lizzo became furious, hurling expletives at the group and stated that she was going to go around the room, person-by-person until someone told Lizzo who made the recording,” the suit reads.
After Davis apologized for her actions and reassured the singer that the video was deleted, Lizzo allegedly berated and fired her.
On another occasion, Lizzo allegedly forced her dancers to undergo “excruciating” 12-hour training after accusing them of drinking before performances.
Including in the suit is also Lizzo’s company – Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. – and the dance team’s captain, Shirlene Quigley, who stands accused of “lewd s*xual fantasies” and berating one of the dancers over her virginity.
