Lisa Marie Presley reportedly died from a second cardiac arrest in the hospital after her family signed a ‘do not resuscitate’ order.
The singer-songwriter was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after a housekeeper found her unresponsive inside her Calabasas home.
Paramedics arrived at her home and managed to revive her but by the time she arrived at the hospital, she was already brain-dead, according to TMZ.
Loved ones rushed to her bedside where she was on life support. After being told that she was brain dead, they made the heartbreaking decision to sign a ‘do not resuscitate’ order.
Lisa Marie suffered a second cardiac arrest in the hospital and she passed away.
She made her final public appearance at the Golden Globes on January 10. She and her mother Priscilla, 77, were in attendance to cheer on the crew and cast of 2022 biopic film Elvis, a movie about the late King of Rock and Roll.
Following her death, Priscilla released a statement via BBC News that read: “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.
“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss.”
A new video has emerged of the late singer talking about the movie only days before she died.
In the clip, she said: “I’m so overwhelmed by this film and the effect that it’s had and what Baz has done, Austin’s done.
“I’m so proud, and I know that my father [Elvis] would also be very proud. […] I’m overwhelmed with gratitude, so thank you.”
