Lisa Marie Presley has passed away prematurely after suffering a full cardiac arrest.
The 54-year-old singer and songwriter died at the hospital on Thursday hours after collapsing in the bedroom of her home.
While there was initially still hope that Lisa might recover after she was hooked to life support while fighting for her life at the hospital, her mother, Priscilla, now announced her passing.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla revealed.
“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
The sad news comes just moments after sources told TMZ that Lisa Marie’s ex-husband Danny Keough – whom she was living with – administered CPR after the singer was found unresponsive in her room.
Insiders also claimed that “someone administered epinephrine,” also known as adrenaline, in an attempt to resuscitate Lisa Maria.
After she was rushed to West Hills Hospital, in Los Angeles, California, the 54-year-old remained in a coma in critical condition.
“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world and ask for privacy at this time,” her mother said earlier of her only child with Elvis Presley.
Our thoughts are with Lisa Marie’s family, friends, and fans during this challenging time.
