A video has emerged of Lisa Marie Presley saying she knew that her late father Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll, would be proud of the biopic movie about him.
Only two days after Lisa Marie made her final public appearance at the Golden Globes on January 10, she sadly died at the age of 54 following a suspected cardiac arrest.
She attended the event to cheer on the crew and cast of Elvis, a biopic movie about the life of her father.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the film has received a score of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Austin Butler’s impressive portrayal of the legendary singer gaining well-deserved attention.
The 31-year-old star won a Golden Globe as Lisa Marie and her mother Priscilla Presley cheered him on.
A new video of the late singer talking about the film only days before her passing is circulating on social media, and it is leaving people in tears.
In the clip, she said that she knew her father would be ‘proud’ of what the crew and cast achieved.
“I’m so overwhelmed by this film and the effect that it’s had and what Baz has done, Austin’s done,” Lisa Marie said.
“I’m so proud, and I know that my father [Elvis] would also be very proud. […] I’m overwhelmed with gratitude, so thank you.”
Elvis passed away in 1977 at the age of 42. His only daughter was only 9 years old at that time.
Reports revealed that he was found unresponsive at his home in Graceland. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
