The parents of a 12-year-old boy who happened to be at the center of a dispute relating to his life support treatment are now being given the green signal to appeal for the case.
According to local media outlets, 46-year-old mother Hollie Dance says she wanted the court of appeal judges to consider Archie’s case. And that’s because the current judge who happened to be handling his case had asked doctors to remove the life support machine because she felt he was gone and didn’t require it.
The case went viral on social media as the parents longed for help, adding that their son will wake up but he just needed some more time. Now, they’re going as far as claiming that he is responding well to the sense of smell too.
The patient named Archie Battersbee has failed to gain consciousness since the incident that took place at his home in Essex.
He was reportedly found unresponsive by his family members and there was a ligature present around his neck. Since then, he was in a coma and has not woken up yet but his parents are very hopeful that their child is not dead.
Sources claim the young child became the victim of an online choking challenge gone horribly wrong.
“When I entered his bedroom, he had his dressing gown’s cord tied around his neck. He was conscious!”- she cried.
Since then, everything has just been such an immense nightmare for her to process. First the harrowing discovery, then a judge rejecting her son’s life support treatment, and now filing an appeal that she hopes gets acceptance because she does not wish to see her child die.
“My son was ever so talented. He was our little world, a little gymnast who added color and smiles to our lives. We are not going to give up”- the mother concluded in an emotional tone.
