Famous Harry Potter actor Leslie Phillips passed away at the age of 98.
According to reports from local media outlets, the legendary actor died after suffering from a long-time illness. He was one of the country’s biggest comedic stars.
The actor was born in Tottenham and was most famous for a number of leading roles in movies like Carry On and more. Meanwhile, he even appeared in a recent interview and that’s what is so heartbreaking for many.
One of his most acclaimed roles was in the movie ‘Ding Dong’ ‘Well, Hello!’ and ‘I Say’. But those belonging to the younger generation would best recall him as the leading star in films like Harry Potter where he was the famous sound of the Sorting Hat.
As the hero of nearly 150 films, Phillips was stated to have suffered from a serious life-threatening stroke in the year 2015. Hence, he was mentioned as a patient who was trying to recover at home for the past few years.
He always spoke about how fondly people remembered him by his catchphrases that span for generations and more.
What many people were amazed by was his strong London accent that he acquired at a young age. But with time, he managed to go through lessons to adopt unique tones for any roles that he turned out to be famous for.
He was a kind and loving man who stayed in touch with his former wife Penny Bartley even after the couple’s divorce. But she was killed in 1981 in a house fire and that terrible incident really took a toll on him.
And then in the year 2011, he was shocked to learn that his second wife had taken her own life. She was the famous bond girl Angela Scoular.
