Comedian Leslie Jordan has passed away at the age of 67 after suffering a medical emergency and crashing his vehicle into the side of a building in Los Angeles.
Known for his work on Call Me Kat, American Horror Story, and Will & Grace, Jordan recently took up a career as a country singer. One day before his death, he even announced that he would be releasing a new song.
Grieving ‘Will & Grace’ stars Sean Hayes and Eric McCormack have paid tribute to the comedian who was described as a ‘unique talent with an enormous, caring heart.’
In 2006, Jordan won an outstanding guest actor Emmy for his role as Beverly Leslie in the popular NBC show Will & Grace.
His co-stars, Eric McCormack and Sean Hayes, were left heartbroken by the news.
McCormack, who played the main role of Will Truman, said: “The funniest & flirtiest southern gent I’ve ever known. The joy and laughter he brought to every one of his #WillandGrace episodes was palpable. Gone about thirty years too soon. You were loved, sweet man.”
He also said that he was ‘crushed’ by the loss.
Taking to Twitter, Hayes wrote: “My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. Everyone who ever met him, loved him.
“There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart. You will be missed, my dear friend.”
A day before Jordan’s death, he shared an Instagram video of himself singing along with songwriter Danny Myrick.
He teased about a new song and wrote: “Sunday Mornin’ Hymm Singin’ with @dannymyrick. Danny helped me with a new original song that should be comin’ out real soon. Love. Light. Leslie.”
