One woman from the US is sharing her unique experience while shopping for sanitary pads in a foreign country.
For every woman out there, there’s always that dreaded time of the month that occurs- your period. And that means you need to be well-equipped with your usual stock of tampons that will get you through the seven-day process.
But what do you do when you mistake a tampon for something else? Well, this next story sheds light on just that and what Americans face when traveling to places where tampons don’t usually appear to be the same.
This American is now living in Adelaide and she’s raising awareness for other young women about how you shouldn’t expect your tampon to look like what it does in the US when in a foreign country.
Gabrielle Uhrig claims to have bought a giant pack of tampons but when she opened her packet, it wasn’t even close to what she was expected to see.
“I traveled from Arkansas to Adelaide in 2021 and while there were plenty of things for me to get used to, this just wasn’t one of them,”- she explained.
Uhrig stated that pads in the US tend to come with applicators for single-use that are made from plastic. In the same way, she shed light on how they’re usually quite bigger in size.
“I bought my pack of mini tampons for nearly 4.25 dollars from U by Kotex, and the difference is mind-blowing”- she added.
But what really startled the young woman and so many others is how no one has previously spoken about this matter or even mentioned it.
“The fact that it’s smaller than my pinky is beyond me”- she went on further to explain.
So many viewers were quick to comment on her post and also spoke about how they were certainly not expecting this when they heard the term little.
