Tragic reports are coming in from Saudi Arabia where three men were reportedly sentenced to death for refusing to leave their homes as the country plans the development of a new modern city worth $500 billion.
The men were described as locals from tribes that had been living in the same area for a while. But they refused to evict their homes because they didn’t feel like they should be moved for the reason of new development in the country.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is known for granting some of the harshest punishments in not only all of the Middle East but around the globe. And while the news is definitely shocking and alarming to many, those living in the Kingdom just aren’t surprised.
They feel it’s something that they’ve become accustomed to and has been seen in the past too.
The new mega-city called Neom is believed to be worth a staggering $500 billion and it’s outlined to be modern and mega in every aspect.
This includes the likes of featuring the most advantaged and sought-after themes that are solely based on modern technology.
It’s interesting to note how the case first began in 2020. This is when the respective tribesman was arrested for failing to cooperate with authorities.
Now, a rights activist group from the United Kingdom that’s currently working in Saudi Arabia has gone public with shocking findings that have really caused a huge stir around the world.
They mentioned the final verdict on Twitter to help raise awareness of what was going on and how much family members would be paying the price of death for failing to move out for the sake of the city’s construction.
