A 49-year-old lawyer has been arrested and charged for stripping completely naked after being refused service at a bar because she was too intoxicated.
Kelly Elkins was booked into the Pinellas County jail but was released only hours later on her own recognizance.
This incident was her second time in jail that week.
Reports say that Elkins went to the Lounge Bar in St. Petersburg around 2:15 am but because she was already too intoxicated, the bar manager refused to serve her.
According to the complaint, the “defendant walked into the restroom and then came back out into the bar unclothed and completely naked.”
The manager told the lawyer to put her clothes back on but she refused.
The affidavit also stated that police who responded to the bar found Elkins in a birthday suit.
Elkins “had to be told several times to get dressed, at which time she only put a zip up hoodie on and did not zip the shirt up,” the deputy wrote in the complaint.
The 49-year-old lawyer, who graduated from John Marshall Law School, also allegedly refused to wear her pants, saying “she was too tired.”
Only two days before the incident, she was arrested on a charge of obtaining lodging or food with intent to defraud.
According to the complaint, she had multiple alcoholic beverages and lunch valued at more than $38 at Nori Thai restaurant in St. Petersburg.
When she received the bill, Elkins offered her purse as payment as she didn’t have money to cover it. She was then taken to the county jail and was released the next day on her own recognizance.
