The fourth set of human remains has just been discovered at drought-struck Lake Mead.
On Saturday, as temperatures continue to soar across Nevada and Arizona, the authorities confirmed the discovery of yet another corpse at Lake Mead where water levels hit the lowest point in 80 years.
The fourth set of human remains that were recently found at the natural water reservoir was discovered at Swim Beach in Nevada and is currently being examined by the Clark County coroner.
As of this writing, the identities of the four people whose remains were found at the lake remain a mystery.
One man, however, has since spoken out and suggested that the second set of remains found at the lake belongs to his father.
Todd Kolod, who now lives in Spain, says he was just three years old when his dad, Daniel Kolod, drowned in Callville Bay.
At the time of his death in 1958, Daniel was allegedly just 22 years old.
Recalling the incident, Todd said his father was having fun on a speed boat when he and his friend encountered a wake and got thrown out of the vessel.
While the young man’s friend survived the ordeal, Daniel’s body was never found.
“With each clue, I always expect in my mind that it’s going to put us farther away from our goal, but consistently each clue is putting us closer, and this is like a bullseye,” Kolod said in an interview with 8 News Now after the coroner confirmed that the second set of remains found at the lake belonged to a young adult.
Todd also said he was keen to provide a DNA sample that they could compare with the DNA samples retrieved from the body but complained it is all taking too much time.
“The pace of being contacted about a DNA sample – I’m starting to lose hope a little bit. Maybe this new finding lights something up,” he added.
As of this writing, none of the four sets of remains have yet been identified.
“The lake has drained dramatically over the last 15 years. It’s likely that we will find additional bodies that have been dumped in Lake Mead,” Lt. Ray Spencer of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.
