King of the Hill star Johnny Hardwick was found dead at his home in Texas at the age of 59.
According to reports, police were called for a welfare check and found the talented voice actor dead at his home.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and foul play has been ruled out, according to TMZ. There is no cause of death at this time.
Hardwick, who played Hank Hill’s conspiracy theorist next-door neighbor Dale Gribble, also served as a story editor, staff writer, and show producer, scoring four Prime Time Emmy nominations.
In 1999, the voice actor won an Emmy Award for his work on King of the Hill.
Out of 259 episodes of King of the Hill, his voice was featured in 258 of them.
According to reports, the show is set to make a comeback with all of the original cast but it is not clear whether this will proceed with the star’s sudden passing.
On the reboot, Marci Proietto, the executive vice president of 20th Television Animation, said: “’m so lucky to have been a part of this show from the very beginning and couldn’t be more excited to visit Arlen, Texas, once again with Mike, Greg, and Saladin, who together are bringing a whole new perspective to the original series.
“We all want to thank the fans for their overwhelming support because they helped make this happen, and I can’t wait to share this new iteration through the lens of 2023 America. In the words of our beloved Peggy Hill: ‘Ho yeah!’”
In addition to his work on the hit show, Hardwick also shared videos on his YouTube channel, often dressed as his character from King of the Hill.
