A sailor from the US Navy has been accused of murder after he allegedly caught his wife and her admirer making love in the couple’s home.
The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Tyler Lamar Jenkins who has been charged with second-degree murder, moments after he shot dead 28-year-old Timothy Paul Talley on Friday night.
The victim was found in bed with the sailor’s wife, having an affair in the couple’s residence in Virginia Beach.
Jenkins has admitted to carrying out the crime and also admits that he did absolutely nothing wrong, signaling how it was something that the victim deserved for laying his hands on his wife at the couple’s home.
The sailor is reported to have shot the victim thrice during the harrowing incident, which resulted in his death on the spot.
Jenkins is said to have been a part of the US navy since the year 2014. He was arraigned on Monday, right after the incident had taken place.
Now, the suspect is being held without any bond and is also said to make an appearance in court on May 12.
The sailor’s wife has been unnamed in the case and she has reportedly been unharmed during the shooting as the bullets were directed at her lover.
“I feared for my life”- his wife revealed to the police. She also mentioned how her lover happened to be her husband’s friend. He was an aviation machinist in the navy.
After seeing the couple engaged in the intimate act, the sailor didn’t think twice and just shot his fellow seaman while he was still in his bed, sources added.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene when they arrived at 10 pm.
