Haunting new details have emerged after missing girl Charlotte Sena was found alive at her upstate New York kidnapper’s home.
The 9-year-old girl was reported missing by her family shortly after she vanished suddenly while riding a bike at Moreau Lake State Park on Saturday evening.
According to the reports, the child disappeared under suspicious circumstances while riding her bike with her friends.
After an Amber Alert was issued and over four hundred personnel began looking for the child, Charlotte was found alive and in good health inside the camper van of a suspected kidnapper with a criminal history.
It is believed that the girl was kidnapped for ransom, whereas sources confirmed she was found inside a cabinet of a van parked in Milton during a police raid.
The suspect has since been identified as 47-year-old Craig Ross.
Ross has now been officially charged with kidnapping at his Milton Town Court arraignment. His mugshot was also released.
Following the child’s successful rescue, New York Governor Kathy Hochul spoke out and praised the parties involved in the mission.
“We are overjoyed at the news that Charlotte Sena has been located safely this evening after an intense days-long search. Our hearts are with her family as they welcome her home,” she said.
“Thank you to the New York State Police, New York Park Police and all who worked so tirelessly to find Charlotte.
“It is because of their efforts that Charlotte will be able to return home safe to her family.”
Our thoughts remain with Charlotte and her family during this challenging time.
