American Idol star Kellie Pickler’s husband took his own life at their Nashville home, only a day after he took to Instagram to celebrate a musical achievement.

49-year-old Kyle Jacobs was found inside a locked bedroom. His wife was reportedly at home when he shot himself and when she couldn’t find him, she called 911 right away.

Just a day before he ended his life, Jacobs was celebrating a record he worked on going platinum.

In addition to providing backing vocals and playing acoustic guitar on the record, Jacobs was also a producer.

“Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together…Deeply honored to be a creative part of it…Thank you Jesus!!!” he wrote on Instagram.

Before his death, he also posted about a business venture, a new app called SingerSongwriterMusician.

He said: “Calling all Singers, Songwriters and Musicians!!! Do you need great ‘Appenue’ (App+Avenue=Appenue) for the WORLD to hear the MUSIC that God put into your HEART? Or need a network to set up gigs, find performance venues, new band members or even just jam-buddies?

“Then check out the SingerSongwriterMusician App…It’s AMAZING!!!”

His close friends and adoring fans were also full of ideas for him.

A fan wrote to him on his post: “Hey have you ever thought of writing a gospel song? I bet it would be awesome with your faith and words of experience over the years put to paper as to what he has blessed you with like how he gave you Kellie and your love story.”

David Allen commented on his platinum post: “Congrats, my brother! Big bass will be on the spawn beds at my lake in about 2 or 3 weeks. Grab your gear and let’s get in the truck.”

Another wrote: “He passed away today.”

In a statement, Nashville Police said: “Officers and Nashville Fire Department personnel responded and located resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office.

“His death is being investigated as an apparent su*cide.”
