New video footage has surfaced showing a 32-year-old woman jumping overboard from her cruise ship after a brief moment of struggle with security members.
Local media sources claim the woman went overboard on the giant Carnival Valor on Wednesday, right after she had a brief encounter with the security members and staff present on board.
The tragic incident took place on Wednesday right after the woman started to behave in a frantic manner and kept calling out the name Alicia.
All the details are now going viral after a recent cell phone video was made public by an anonymous witness who happened to be present during the incident.
This footage clearly shows the exact moment when three guards holding the panicked woman’s arms behind her back while she tries her best to resist.
Soon, the woman can be heard screaming out the name Alicia as the guards try to assist her up a tall flight of stairs then off the pool deck.
Right after that, she can be seen being escorted away as she allegedly breaks free from their captivity and jumps straight downwards from the ship’s tenth floor.
The woman then lands into the Gulf Of Mexico waters but seems to vanish as there is no sign of her after that.
Reports revealed how the Coast Guard was made aware of the incident and hence rushed to the scene to try and locate the woman. However, they were unable to find her despite carrying out a major search that lasted nearly 14 hours.
Now, the search has been called off as confirmed by the respective authorities involved.
The ship was identified as the Carnival Valor, which departed New Orleans last Saturday. Moreover, the incident is said to have caused panic on board with many passengers tossing life preservers into the ocean to mark the woman’s exact location.
At the moment, investigations into the case continue as authorities have only revealed that the woman was with her husband for a holiday.
