Saddening news has been confirmed from authorities in Chicago regarding the July Fourth massacre in Highland Park.
According to local media reports, the shooter named Bobby Crimo made his first court appearance and had his mugshot taken which is now going viral. The young gunman is believed to have made use of an $800 rifle which he reportedly loaded twice before wildly shooting at the crowds who were celebrating on the Fourth of July in Highland Park.
The death toll for the tragedy has increased to eight victims, leaving many in a state of shock at the uncontrolled levels of gun violence arising center stage.
But if that wasn’t shocking enough, more details are arriving in regards to the gunman’s intentions of carrying out another similar attack in Wisconsin, which he planned on doing while dressed as a girl again.
Crimo made his appearance in the Illinois courtroom via Zoom and was dressed in all-black attire. He is believed to have only spoken once during his appearance where he revealed that he had no attorney representing him in the case.
Meanwhile, prosecutors for the case mentioned how the suspect is yet to provide his justification regarding the motive of the incident. But he has confessed to carrying out the heinous crime that took away the lives of eight innocent individuals.
The weapon by Smith and Wesson was reportedly bought in the year 2020 and since its purchase, at least 83 rounds had been fired, confirmed officials.
The gun was stated to be loaded twice during the rampage and after conducting the attack, the shooter is believed to have dropped the weapon and hid among the crowd to prevent himself from being caught.
It is believed that the cops were able to track the suspect down by using the gun’s serial number, after which they arrived at his doorstep.
Moments after the shooting was over, the suspect drove his mom’s car to Wisconsin where he planned on carrying out a similar attack but was caught in the meantime.
