Johnny Depp looked Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez straight in the eyes during the defamation trial between the Pirates of the Caribbean star and Aquaman actress.
This comes after Depp refused to make eye contact with his ex-wife as he made a vow after their divorce that Heard would ‘never see his eyes again.’
When Heard testified on Monday, she looked at Depp’s eyes but he refused to return her gaze.
However, Depp looked at Henriquez when she took the stand on Wednesday.
During the testimony, Heard’s sister said that the actor was using substances and drinking and that there was ‘almost always a fight’ during the former couple’s relationship.
“It seemed to oscillate pretty quickly. He’d be sober for a bit then fall off the wagon and it would go back and forth,” she told the court.
When she was asked to describe how Heard changed during her relationship with Depp, she said: “At first Amber was Amber, she was loud, fun, funny, she laughed a lot, was this happy, bright, fun, loving thing surrounded by friends. A progression took over such a long period of time.
“It was like watching a slow motion gunshot. She stopped sleeping, not as loud, not as gregarious.”
Henriquez claimed that her sister lost 100lbs and that she was “emaciated, not sleeping, she developed a heart condition, her eyes were sunken in.”
She also claimed that the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor complained about Heard doing films especially if they had inappropriate scenes.
“When he was drinking he’d get very angry and say really nasty unkind things, usually about Amber. Horrible, horrible, horrible things,” she added.
Henriquez also claimed that Depp would forbid amber to have a password on her mobile phone, or force the actress to change it to a simple one so he could easily memorize it.
