Actor Jim Carrey is being accused of assault after an old video of him forcibly kissing 17-year-old Alicia Silverstone has gone viral.

The incident occurred after the actor slammed Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock on the Oscars stage recently.

Carrey deeply criticized Will Smith’s behavior while referring to him as a spineless individual who couldn’t handle a simple joke. But he didn’t stop there.

The comedian could be seen accusing the entire Hollywood fraternity of supporting the actor’s incredibly violent act and even going as far as giving him a standing ovation, moments after Will Smith bagged the award for ‘The Best Actor’ that night.

Carrey even called out the officials for failing to escort him out of the auditorium as he felt there should be zero tolerance for incidents like these.

But Twitter and social media, in general, were quick to give the comedian a blast from the past. They reminded him of his controversial and forceable kiss upon actress Alicia Silverstone which they call s*xual assault, considering how young the starlet was at that time.

This particular incident is from the MTV Movie Awards in 1997.

Twitter has plenty of commentary surrounding the matter as many shared and commented on the actor’s disgraceful actions, reminding him to practice what he preaches.

Carrey was even called out for making an attempt to kiss Smith after he was reportedly presented with his award.

As both of these videos continue with their viral rounds on Twitter, so many online users are labeling Jim Carrey as an absolute hypocrite that is condemning Will Smith’s actions but forgetting about his own behavior.

Jim Carrey is yet to publicly comment on the controversy. However, he did point out on Thursday that he would soon be retiring after his new film Sonic the Hedgehog 2 gets released.
