Jeremy Renner has spoken out and revealed he is “messed up” days after being involved in a horrific snow plow accident.
On New Year’s Day, the 51-year-old Marvel actor came close to death after he was run over by his snow plow while assisting a stranded motorist near Mt. Rose Highway.
Following the accident, it was confirmed that Renner suffered “extensive injuries” and needed to undergo emergency surgery.
Now, the beloved actor, who is already out of his second post-accident surgery, has sent a short message to all his fans and supporters.
“Thank you all for your kind words. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all,” he expressed in his post.
The actor also shared a selfie from his hospital bed showing him bruised and connected to tubes.
The update comes shortly after Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve revealed the Marvel star was helping a driver with his snow plow after the motorist got stranded in the snow.
Unfortunately, Renner was run over by his own plow and suffered severe chest and orthopedic injuries in the process.
“He was helping someone stranded in the snow. He is always helping others,” Schieve said in an interview with the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Confirming the accident and the events that followed was also Washoe County Sheriff’s Office which released the following statement:
“At approximately 9:00am on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.
“Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.
“Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the circumstances of the incident.”
