Jake Flint was filmed serenading his wife during their dream wedding just moments before his sudden and unexpected passing.
The 37-year-old country singer from Oklahoma died in his sleep on Saturday night, just hours after tying the knot with his bride, Brenda.
In the moments leading to his untimely passing, the ‘Hurry up and Wait’ hitmaker was caught on camera serenading his wife at their wedding reception near Tulsa.
The bittersweet clip shows Jake and Brenda enjoying their reception along with their guests while smiling from ear to ear.
After finishing his ballad, the clip comes to an end with Flint professing: “Boy, I found me a keeper, the day I made her my wife.”
Posting the video online after the tragic incident were Flint’s mother Teresa and a fellow Oklahoma musician Mike Hosty.
“Through the tears, my son makes us all smile. His antics onstage were always entertaining and his jokes always corny,” the grieving mom said.
“He grabbed a guitar and sang a song to his bride in the barn,” Hosty captioned the video.
The clip surfaced after Jake’s family paid a touching tribute to the young singer and entertainer.
“Our hearts are broken over this tragic loss.
Jacob was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and partner to his wife, Brenda. He valued his family, friendships and living life to the fullest, which was evident in his songwriting.
Every person who knew him has a story of his wit, charm, talent, and compassion,” they expressed in a statement.“We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and the many beautiful tributes that have been shared about the impact Jacob had on many lives. While we grieve what we know could have been, we’re grateful that his talent and love live on in his songs.”
Meanwhile, Jake’s wife, Brenda, said: “We should be going through wedding photos but instead I have to pick out clothes to bury my husband in. People aren’t meant to feel this much pain.
“My heart is gone and I just really need him to come back. I can’t take much more. I need him here.”
Our thoughts are with Jake’s loved ones during this challenging time.
