A husband reportedly pushed his wife to death after posing for a selfie with her on a cliff.
According to reports from local media outlets, the husband shocked his wife by first taking a loving picture with her by his side on a cliff’s ledge that was stated to be 1000ft above the ground.
She was stated to be seven months pregnant and was carrying his own child. But still, that didn’t stop him from carrying out the heinous behavior.
Now, after being found guilty of the act, he has been shifted to jail and will serve a sentence comprising a lifetime.
The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Hakan Aysal who pushed the pregnant woman from the cliff. Her name was Semra Aysal and she was only 32 in age. She passed away instantly after falling a staggering 1000ft in the Butterfly Valley of Mugla.
Meanwhile, the court heard how Aysal had carried out the horrifying act because he wished to cash in on her life insurance as he was very greedy about money and finances and was willing to do anything for a quick buck. And if that meant taking his own wife’s life, then so be it.
Aysal reportedly appealed for the cause on the basis of insanity. But according to medics, he was ruled out as being sane and mentally fit. Hence, he would now be liable to serve around 30 years in jail, right before he makes an attempt to appeal his release.
The ruling came from the circuit court in Turkey where the tragedy had taken place.
His wife was very afraid of heights but he managed to lure her in on the deal and promised that he would be there to guide and protect her along the way. But that was the exact opposite of what he ended up doing.
