A 93-year-old man didn’t let his old age get the best of him and that’s why he was recently caught shooting and critically injuring another individual who tried to enter his home.
The retired plumber who goes by the name Joe Howard Teague says he was left with zero choices but to make use of a shotgun upon his intruder who broke into his home in the later hours of the night.
The resident who hails from Los Angeles says he did everything possible to try to make the citizen’s arrest. But he soon realized there was an entire gang behind him who was trying to break in.
Therefore, that’s when he was left with no decision but to teach them a lesson because they continued to approach him in a dangerous manner. One of them was seen holding a fishing pole and that really took him by surprise in the end.
The robbers were kept being told by Joe that he was armed and it wouldn’t result in any form of hesitation to kill them but they failed to take any heed and continued to move towards him.
One of the burglars left the 93-year-old with no choice but to inform 911 rescue services and force him to use bullets to control them from advancing forward.
“I did have some fear but I had to save myself from my own death”- the retired plumber mentioned.
Teague was taken in by the authorities and released after they carried out a conversation with him and questioned him in detail about the incident.
Thankfully, Teague remained safe and unharmed in the incident. As far as the injured intruder is concerned, he is still seeking medical treatment for his serious injuries at the hospital.
Teague told the authorities that he was left with no choice but to take the law into his own hands. And that’s because every time he makes efforts to call the cops, they take so long in arriving that it’s just too late. Hence, this time he thought to act swiftly and confidently.
