So many people were left shocked and horrified after a suitcase up for sale at an auction contained the remains of two young children.

According to local media reports, the young kids’ remains appeared to be stuffed inside the suitcase in a brutal manner. Their ages were described to be between 5 and 10, authorities claim.

It was also revealed by forensic experts how the remains seemed to have been there for a good three to four years after which they were finally discovered yesterday in New Zealand.

A family who hailed from the southern part of Auckland mentioned how they made the gruesome discovery all of a sudden while they were busy going through the contents of the suitcase.

“We bought the suitcase at an abandoned storage unit auction. To our absolute horror, when we opened it up, there were dead kids inside”- the family explained.

The family spoke in detail about how they bid in the auction on August 11. They won the unit’s contents but little did they know about the terrifying discovery that they were in store for.

There were not one but actually two suitcases in total. And each one was similar in size, the cops explained.

Detectives and authorities also mentioned how they strongly believe that the family is not believed to be involved in any manner.

“Buyers aren’t given the chance to snoop through any auction content before the event begins. Hence, it’s like blindly bidding on something that we had no idea about”- the family went on to justify.

For now, investigations into the horrifying case continue as detectives are trying to find more clues and CCTV footage related to the event. But they believe it’s going to be a challenge to solve this mystery.
