Hugh Jackman has opened up about his most recent skin cancer scare after undergoing two biopsies to either confirm or dismiss his fears.
The 54-year-old Hollywood star previously had his fans worried after getting six cancerous growths removed from his face back in 2017 and 2018.
Later, in 2021, the Wolverine star also underwent a biopsy after spotting new suspicious growth on his face. Since the results came back as inconclusive, it was determined that the worst thing the actor could have was Basel Cell Carcinoma – the most common skin cancer form.
Now, Jackman released a health update in which he told his followers and supporters that he underwent two more biopsies to get to the bottom of the matter.
“Hey guys. So, I wanted you to hear it from me just in case someone sees me on the street or whatever,” he said in a video as he showed off his bandaged nose.
“I’ve just had two biopsies done. I just went to my doctor, Dr Iron, who’s awesome. I’ll find out in two or three days and as soon as I know, I’ll let you know.
“Just to remind you, Basel Cell in the world of skin cancers is the least dangerous of them all.”
Hugh went on to reveal that the skin cancers he’s had removed in recent years were caused by insufficient protection from the sun two decades ago.
Urging his fans to wear sunscreen when out in the sun, he continued: “Please wear sunscreen. It is just not worth it. No matter how much you want to tan, trust me, trust me, trust me.
“Put some sunscreen on. You’ll still have an incredible time out there, alright? Please be safe.”
