A toddler was reportedly killed in Houston recently after an out-of-control speeding cement truck was seen crashing off an overpass.
According to reports from local media outlets, one family was left beyond devastated at the news which they claim ripped their Texan household apart forever, thanks to one driver’s neglected behavior.
The female truck driver is believed to have lost control of her vehicle and careened right off of an overpass nearby. And that is what landed on the victim’s family’s car.
The impact was so strong that the toddler was sent out and fell down to his death, taking his life in an instant. Thankfully, other members of the family remained safe including the victim’s twin sister who was believed to have been seated right next to him.
Harris County Sheriff’s Department was seen offering their condolences and prayers to the family during this absolute heartbreaking tragedy, as tributes for the 22month old child began to pour in from all directions on social media after the news went viral online.
“The driver just lost control of the truck and it fell from the overpass and that is what led to the unfortunate accident”- officers confirmed. They also stated how the incident took place at about 2:30 pm on Friday.
The victim’s car was identified as a Ford Expedition. Witnesses revealed how good Samaritans were able to rescue the others members of the family in time which included a grandmother, mother, father, and one of the twins who was still trapped in her seat.
Authorities have recently identified the victim as Nicholas Resendiz, who was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the tragedy.
As of now, authorities are busy carrying out an investigation into the devastating crash as some deputies claim the driver of the truck did try to slow down her vehicle before it fell over the overpass and landed on the family’s car.
