The housekeeper who discovered Aaron Carter’s lifeless body in his bathtub in his $800,000 mansion was a homeless woman he and his fiancée took in only weeks before.
According to TMZ, the singer and his partner, Melanie Miller, hired the homeless woman to clean and watch over their home after it was broken into while they were gone.
The woman had only been staying at the mansion for three weeks when she saw Carter’s lifeless body in his bathtub and immediately contacted 911.
The housekeeper is said to have refused help from neighbors, who were medically-trained and had a defibrillator.
Reports say that she was photographed in different clothes than what she had been wearing when she first opened the door for police.
It is not clear what will happen to the mysterious housekeeper after Carter’s tragic death.
Sources also told TMZ how they had traveled to Orange County to spend time with their young son, Prince, who was under the care of Miller’s mother.
During their stay, they were told of a possible break-in at their home after the front door was left open. They also found cigarette butts in the area.
A friend urged the couple to hire a house-sitter and recommended the homeless woman from his church.
Carter and Miller let the woman stay at their house for free in exchange for watching their home.
On November 5, the housekeeper found Carter unresponsive in his bathtub. She reportedly refused medically-trained help from neighbors before authorities arrived.
Neighbors Anthony and Amanda Cheval told Daily Mail that they rushed over to Carter’s house after hearing a 911 call on their police scanner.
Amanda quickly brought her automated external defibrillator bag and ran to the mansion to save him.
The singer was later pronounced dead on the scene, with police saying he drowned.
