A 23-year-old woman is begging the court to have mercy on her ‘kidnapper mother’ who reportedly stole her from the hospital and then raised her for 18 years.
The woman has been identified as 23-year-old Kamiyah Mobley who had been kidnapped from a hospital in Florida in the year 1998.
Her kidnapped mom was identified as Gloria Williams, who stole the child, hours after she entered into the world by her biological mom named Shanara Mobley.
After kidnapping her, Williams raised her as one of her own in the state of South Carolina while functioning under the name Alexis Manigo.
But it was not until the year 2017 that she was arrested and then charged with kidnapping the 23-year-old. Moreover, she was sentenced to a period of 18 years in jail for the crime.
However, Kamiyah revealed how she still considers Williams to be her mother as she raised her for 18 years.
And that is exactly why she’s requesting the court to have mercy and reduce the jail sentence.
“She raised me, provided for all of my needs, and then continued to love me in the most unconditional manner. I grew up well and I am highly grateful to her”- Kamiyah explained.
The 23-year-old says that she adores her mother and couldn’t imagine not being with her for so long.
“She is my mom and I love her so much. I will always wholeheartedly support her and I am asking the court’s grace to please have mercy upon her”- she continued.
Kamiyah is said to have reunited with her birth parents named Shanara and Craig Aiken when she was 19. But with that being said, she continues to have a very strong and close relationship with Williams.
