A Holocaust survivor who was forced to flee her homeland amid the Russian invasion has spoken out and slammed President Vladimir Putin.
Branding the Russian strongman as an “a**hole,” 96-year-old Ukrainian-born Anastasia Gulej vowed to survive him just as she did dictators Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler.
“I have no words for what the Hitler admirers from the Kremlin did in Bucha and Mariupol,” Gulej said during a memorial service for Holocaust victims as she compared Putin and his troops to the Nazis.
“I survived Hitler, survived Stalin and I will survive this a**hole Putin too!” the elderly lady added before accusing Russians of committing “genocide against the Ukrainians.”
As a 19-year-old girl, Gulej was sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp by the Germans back in early 1945, months before World War 2 came to an end.
From Auschwitz, the young lady was eventually transferred to the notorious Bergen-Belsen concentration camp where Anne Frank died in February of the same year.
At the camp, Gulej endured four months of unimaginable horror before the place was liberated by the Allies.
“I can’t forget a single minute that I spent here waiting for death,” she said before recalling the moment the camp was liberated. “I didn’t even have enough strength to feel joy.”
77 years later, Gulej still remembers the ordeal she was put through as a young girl. Now, she also added the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the list.
Back in February, shortly after Putin invaded Ukraine, the 96-year-old was forced to flee her homeland because her house was so close to an airport that had become one of Russia’s top targets.
Since her escape, Gulej has settled in Germany with the help of her German friends.
